Metal Meets Clay happened today!

Today was the first day of Clay Meets Metals and I'm the clay teacher! I was really excited but I don't know how well the class went. I got the feeling that the women in the class who've been taking classes at Lillstreet for a decade may feel like they know more than me or were definitely trying to assert some sort of authority. I hope by the end of the class I will prove myself. So today's project was Cameos! If you know me, then you may have speculated my affection of Cameos. SO I demoed a sprig mold and how to carve a more personalized one.

I have two antidotes.

1) while waiting for the Blue Line at Clark&Lake at 11:34pm I was listening to music and pushing a button around with my cowboy boot when this "character?" comes over and picks up the button and I can see his lips are moving but I can't hear him. He's holding the button out to me as some sort of offering. I took my earphones out and this is what he was saying. "I'm eating these Pringles because I found them but I'm really hungry can you give me a some money so I can get something to eat." I just wanted him to leave me be so I pulled out a dollar and gave it to him, but then he flipped script and was like, "MmmmmM Girl you smell good, mmm mmm Mmm.

But if you ask me, if you're eating "found Pringles" most things/people will smell better than you.

2) I asked my mom to send me some things I left in Toledo when I was home for the holiday. Since my Birthday is this week she used this opportunity to send me a homemade birthday card. I think that is a smiley face drawn in glitter. I actually really like the overall minimalism.

I forgot to mention she wrapped the box in a book cover.

Which my mothers mother's lack of craftiness or her sheer crafty brilliance reminds me of one Easter in 1990-something. At the bottom of the stairs were 4 or 5 brown paper bags (depending on how many kids where old enough to have "easter baskets") unmarked and filled with what I think was a stash of Halloween candy she had hidden/saved for Easter.
